Gefitinib is an antineoplastic agent used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. It can be used for cancer that is locally advanced or distance spread. Gefitinib 250 mg tablet works by blocking a protein called the epidermal growth factor receptor. This receptor is responsible for the growth of cancer cells. Gefitinib eventually slows down the growth and kills them. This medicine should be taken as directed by the physician.
